Our Values

At our core, we, the Board of Directors for Undercover Kindness Gnomes, believe that kindness is not passive. Compassion is not neutral. And love requires action.

As a nonprofit committed to dignity, care, and community, as well as kindness, we believe it’s important to say—clearly and publicly—where we stand on issues of justice, humanity, and safety. Silence protects the oppressor. Clarity protects the oppressed.

Black Lives Matter

We affirm, without qualification, that Black lives matter. This is not a slogan—it is a statement of fact in a world that has historically, repeatedly devalued Black lives through violence, inequity, and systemic racism. We stand for racial justice, equity, and accountability, and we support efforts that dismantle systems built on oppression.

Abortion Is Healthcare

We believe abortion is healthcare. Full stop. Every person deserves bodily autonomy and the right to make informed decisions about their own body, family, and future—without coercion, shame, or criminalization. Reproductive justice is inseparable from economic justice, racial justice, and gender justice.

No Human Is Illegal on Stolen Land

We reject the dehumanization of immigrants and refugees. No person is illegal. Borders are political; humanity is not. We acknowledge that we operate on stolen Indigenous land and believe justice includes truth-telling, respect for sovereignty, and care for displaced people everywhere.

Love Is Love

We celebrate and affirm LGBTQ+ lives and relationships. Love does not require permission to exist. Everyone deserves the freedom to love openly, safely, and joyfully—without fear of violence, discrimination, or erasure.

Trans Rights Are Human Rights

Trans and gender-diverse people deserve safety, autonomy, healthcare, and respect. We stand against laws and rhetoric that target trans people—especially trans youth—and affirm that trans lives are valid, valuable, and worthy of protection.

Protect Kids, Not Guns

We believe children deserve to grow up safe—in schools, homes, and communities. We support commonsense gun safety legislation and reject the idea that mass violence is an acceptable cost of protecting the 2nd Amendment. Protecting kids means prioritizing lives over weapons.

What This Means in Practice

These values guide how we show up, who we partner with, and how we use our platform. They inform our programming, our language, and our refusal to compromise on human dignity for the sake of comfort or approval.

If these values resonate with you, we welcome you here.
If they challenge you, we invite reflection and conversation—but we will not debate the humanity of others.

Kindness is a practice. Justice is love in action.
This is where we stand.
