Wanna Plan a Party?

I’m about to mail Undercover Kindness Gnome number 500.

Just think about that - 500 tiny kindness ambassadors flung around the country and the world to remind strangers that they matter, that their story deserves to be told, that the world needs their specific brand of wonder and magic.

I can scarcely believe it!

Over the years when we’ve had milestones to celebrate we have met online over Zoom and had virtual parties. We played games and I sent prizes to the winners. Some of us wore party hats or fancy pajamas and drank cocktails or Diet Coke in wine glasses. We chatted and laughed and got to know one another and reveled in being part of a kindness revolution.

(Revolution sounds lofty to me, but I’m leaving the word as it is. Kindness IS revolutionary. It has the untethered ability to change the atmosphere of a room, the heart of a stranger, and ultimately, I believe, the world.)

So. Here’s where you come in. We are absolutely going to celebrate the 500th gnome. It feels huge because it IS huge.

I would love and value your ideas about the celebration. Shall we party together over Zoom? Collaborate on a special gnome and auction it off to benefit a food bank or women’s shelter or kids’ programming in an underserved community? Challenge ourselves to come up with 500 Ways to be Kind? I want to hear all of it!

You are the best, kindest, smartest, most compassionate and lovely folks and I just know you’re going to have brilliant ideas.
